Still Me (Intro)

lyrics

It’s been over 30 years that I've been the sum of all fears
I poured my heart into these verses until my pen cried tears

About the shit that grinds gears and didn’t care who could relate
I wrote those songs to sooth my sanity no vanity or hate

Well maybe just a bit of late because this rage is like a battery
took hard-line positions that had religious people mad at me

And spit it with the savagery befitting of my origins
Cause the west side of Baltimore been filled my heart with poison

approach the world with hammers and everything looks like a nail
Sometimes that method’s not effective….in some circumstances fails

But I've been rocking with this hip hop shit since 1982
Before half your parents screwed so they could even make you

And I’ve seen all of the transitions….. and trends that came and went
How it evolved into this monster….. with murderous intent

And now the bars ain’t making sense...and the fans don’t even care
Now you could spit the illest verse and they just shrug it off and stare

if you think I do this shit to chase acceptance be aware
To kiss the asses of the masses ain’t the reason why I’m here

So imma use the beats I want to use..spit the flows I want to choose
Embrace what I have always been and move just like I always do

my audience will never branch from out of 20,000? Cool
That’s the reason why you’re switching up? well tell me how that works for you

Old man Landon...guess these niggas mad I kept living
So when they die at 29 I’ll laugh and just say good riddance
